New Passione A string. The old one unwound whilst playing Schubert Quintet for fun at VaCO!
Had a new tail piece put on the viola by Poole violins and a velum placed under the a string to stop it sinking any further into the bridge.
Very interesting chap, very useful advice given.
Replaced passione violin A with new.

Complete new set of strings ready for the concerto on Saturday.

The viola also needed some significant work done to service it back up to tip top condition. Thwaites in Bushey did their usual fantastic job and resealed the seams, reset the bridge and cleaned the front. It sounds beautiful again!
The viola was taken to Thwaites in Bushey for a bit of care and attention, once there we found that the seams had come apart. These were glued back together and the instrument cleaned, the bridge was reset and they also fitted a new D-String (Passione) as it was very very ill!
I then fitted a complete new set of strings C, G & A (Pirastro Passione)
This is all in preparation for the Mozart Symphonia Concertante on Saturday
